I've always wanted to travel. Take a cross-country road trip to L.A. in a convertible and backpack across Europe and cruise to the Caribbean. But I've always let my career take priority in my life. I'm always willing to take on freelance jobs to make some extra money for bills and make sure I'm working on projects that I'm passionate about. I work a nine to five job in my field to make sure that I'm racking up enough ad agency experience for the resume. And frankly, I've been consumed by the pressure of having to impress hiring coordinators from my dream jobs and the hope that all this overtime is paying off.
But I've recently had an epiphany. I don't have to be enslaved behind the computer screen 24/7 to advance my career. Why not take time off work to travel around the world, visiting must-see design and art destinations? From design conferences and festivals to museums and famous landmarks, my journey as a designer and artist needs to be enriched by my craft's history and be educated by professionals in my field. I'm ready to escape the screen and start experiencing design, are you?
