Hi, I’m Alexandria Batchelor (A.K.A. Foxee Design) 👋🏽

FOXEE is an LA-based design studio run by Brooklyn transplant Alexandria Batchelor, a full-time freelance art director specializing in comic production and illustrative design. The moniker “Foxee” is based on the blaxploitation character Foxy Brown and her analog Jackie Brown, who redefine Black beauty, womanhood, and female empowerment.

Alexandria professionally colors for publishing giants like Penguin Random House, Dark Horse Comics, and ABRAMS Books, as well as indie presses such as Rosarium Publishing and Black Josei Press. With her eye for detail and knack for project management, she aspires to be an editor for middle-grade and YA graphic novels.

Alexandria hopes to redefine color education, expand creator representation (especially for Black women), decolonize character skin tones, and create more female-led communities within the current comic industry.
